Veterinarian 

Seeking a full time emergency veterinarian to add to our team. New graduates and internship-trained candidates will be considered.
The Greater Buffalo Veterinary Emergency Clinic is a well established small animal hospital providing 24 hour emergency and urgent care to the Niagara Frontier region. The new veterinarian will complement our strong team of doctors who are willing to provide mentorship if needed.
We are owned by over 30 shareholders consisting of area veterinarians who regularly refer emergency and critical care cases, however, we readily provide referral and walk-in services to anyone in our community. This affords us a plentiful and interesting case load, keeping our staff engaged and providing many opportunities for team members to challenge themselves. The Veterinary Emergency Clinic features two surgical suites, digital radiography, and ultrasound units for FAST scans. All our imaging studies are read by Board Certified Radiologists. Our new veterinarian will join a fun and cohesive team of highly skilled Licensed Veterinary Technicians, assistants, and customer service representatives.

Veterinary Technicians

The Veterinary Emergency Clinic is looking for highly skilled veterinary technicians to work at the only veterinary facility in Western New York specializing in emergency care. We are open 24/7, 365 days a year, and we would like you to join our highly dedicated team. WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR WEEKEND AND OVERNIGHTS SHIFTS. WE WILL GLADLY CONSIDER PART TIME CANDIDATES.
The Veterinary Emergency Clinic is located in the Cheektowaga Area just minutes from the Buffalo Airport. We have 2 surgical suites, digital radiography, and perform FAST ultrasound scans. All of our imaging studies are read by board certified radiologists.
Veterinary technicians may perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, peripheral sampling catheters, nursing care for hospitalized patients and post operative surgical patients, isolation and infectious disease patient handling, surgical monitoring, triaging and stabilization of emergency patients, CPR, compassionate care of patients, proficient in house lab work, medical record keeping, hospitalized record keeping using Instinct digital treatment sheets, blood transfusions, maintaining nasogastric tubes, oxygen therapy, and more as a veterinary technician. This position does include evenings and weekends, and holidays. Must be licensed in New York State.

Requirements:
At least two years experience as a technician is preferred, but we will consider those with fewer years of experience for our training program
Required to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Enthusiasm, strong technical skills, attention to details, ability to multi-task and excellent interpersonal skills is a must. Emergency technicians are required to be proficient with small animal restraint and handling, nursing care, venipuncture and IV catheterization, anesthesia monitoring, and general knowledge of veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities include: Providing nursing care to our stable hospitalized patients, triaging and stabilizing incoming emergencies, providing treatment to our outpatients, communicating with our clients and providing excellent customer service, and supporting our doctors to provide excellent emergency veterinary care.

Veterinary Assistant

Job Details:
The ideal candidate will be willing to learn, have good communication skills, have a positive outlook, and a passion for caring for sick or injured pets.
Flexible availability is desirable. Evening, weekend, and overnight availability is required. 
Attendance at meetings is required. We train our assistants on an ongoing basis. Opportunities for learning include such items as CPR techniques and procedures, infectious diseases, and surgical and isolation procedures.
Assistant specific duties include: safe and appropriate restraint of patients for injections, blood collections, surgical prep, and other procedures commonly performed at the clinic; assisting Technicians in the care and treatment of hospitalized patients; daily cleaning, organizing, and restocking of all parts of the facility.

Veterinary Receptionist


Seeking a full time and part time Receptionist to add to our highly knowledgeable and skilled team. Candidate must be friendly, and patient. We are looking for a responsible, reliable candidate with the ability to multitask and regulate heavy work flow in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Greeting clients, processing payments, and answering phones. Experience in the veterinary field a plus. Evenings and weekends are required. Overnights are also available.
